The family is the oldest social unit in the world. It is, in fact, society in miniature. And it is the awesome responsibility of each generation to pass on the torch of civilization to the next. A child does not belong to the two people whose union made his existence possible. He is only on loan to them during his formative years. But during those years, the twig is bent and shaped. That is the way the tree will grow.

A story on covenantal love
It was a busy morning, about 8.30am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb.
He said he was in a hurry, as he had an appointment at 9.00am.
While taking care of his wound, I asked if he has had another doctor's appointment that morning, since he was in such a hurry. No, I was told. He had needed to go to the nursing home to have breakfast with his wife.
I inquired as to her health, and was told she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.
He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised and asked him: 'And you still go every morning, even thought she doesn't know who you are?'
He smiled as he patted my hand and said. 'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been and will be (or will not be).
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything they have.

Of Chivalry and Xenophobia
"People are often unreasonable, Illogical and self-centred; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, You will win some false friends and some true enemies, Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, People may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, Someone coudl destroy overnight, build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, They may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, People will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, And it may never be enough' Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, It is between you and God' It is never between you and them anyway.
